Hang Ups Tour // Scott Helman // Danforth Music Hall // March 28th 2019
Toronto pop-singer/songwriter, Scott Helman, played a sold out show at the Danforth Music Hall last night in Toronto. Known for his songs, “PDA”, “Hang Ups” and “Bungalow”, this 23-year-old Canadian is climbing up in the charts, and has even been recognized by Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara (still waiting for the collab). Here are some of the highlights from the show:
Hits After Hits
I bet Scott isn’t having any “Hang Ups” after this show…You might recognize a couple of these, and I apologize for getting them stuck in your head in the meantime…
And the GOLD goes too…. “Hang Ups” by Scott Helman!
Not only did Scott get to celebrate a sold out show in Toronto, he got to celebrate his current single “Hang Ups” going GOLD in Canada! That means over 40 000 copies have been sold. Not bad for a low key Canadian artist, huh? His team from Warner Music Canada surprised Scott on stage by awarding him with a plaque in front of all of his fans and family. Here’s what Scott had to say:
“I’ve been working with these guys since I was 15. They heard some songs that I’ve played, and they were like, ‘We are going to give you all the time in the world to figure out who you want to be, and what you want to do.’ And honestly as an artist to be given the space to do that, is all you can ask for.”
I can only IMAGINE what the afterparty was probably like…
Going acapella…. Well kinda…
With about 1500 screaming fans in the crowd, going acapella WITHOUT being interrupted is almost impossible… Check it out for yourself….
Plus, adding on a random trumpet solo was the cherry on top!
